The First Book 

Chapter2. Mudge

Henry searched for a dog.

헨리는 찾았다. 한 마리의 개를

“Not just any dog,” said Henry.

“단지 어떤 개가 아니야,“ 헨리가 말했다.

“Not a short one,” he said.”

”작은 개가 아닌 ,“ 그가 말했다.

Not a curly one,” he said.”

”곱슬머리 개가 아닌,“ 그가 말했다.

“And no pointed ears.”

”그리고 귀가 뾰족한 개가 아닌”

Then he found Mudge.

그리고 그들은 찾았다. 머지를

Mudge had floppy ears, not pointed.

머지는 가지고 있었다. 늘어진 귀를, 뾰족하지 않은

And Mudge had straight fur, not curly.

그리고 머지는 가지고 있었다, 곧은 털을, 곱슬거리지 않는

But Mudge was short.

그러나 머지는 작았다.

“Because he was a puppy,”

“왜냐하면 그는 강아지니까”

Henry said.

헨리가 말했다.

“He’ll grow.”

그는 자랄 거야

And did he ever!

그리고 그는 그렇게 됐다.

He grew out of his puppy cage.

그는 자라났다 그의 강아지 우리 보다(크게)

He grew out of his dog cage.

그는 자라났다 그의 개 우리 보다.(크게)

He grew out of seven collars in a row.

그는 자라났다 차례로 7개의 목거리를 벗어날만큼

And when he finally stopped growing… 

그리고 그가 마침내 자라는 것을 멈추었을 때

He weighed one hundred eighty pounds, he stood three feet tall,

그는 무게가 나갔다. 180파운드, 그는 3피트 만큼 컷다.

And he drooled.

그리고 그는 침을흘렸다.

“I’m glad you’re not short,” 

”나는 기뻐, 짧지않아서,“

Henry said.

And Mudge licked him, then sat on him.
