The Jumble Sale

Mum and Dad were spring-cleaning.

Mum looked in a drawer

Dad threw things out.

The children looked at the junk.

They played with the old toys.

Mum put the old toys in the car.

The children were sad.

They all went to the jumble sale.

The children wanted to buy something.

“What a lot of junk!” Said Wilf.

“쓰레기가 정말 많다!” Wilf가 말했어요.

The children saw their toys.

They counted their money.

It was time to go home.

“What’s in the bags?” Said Mum

“가방안에 무엇이 들었어?” 엄마가 말했어요.

Oh no!

What is the jumble sale?

A jumble sale is a type of fundraising event where people donate unwanted items such as clothing, books, toys, and household items to be sold at a low price. The purpose of a jumble sale is to raise money for a charitable organization, a church or a school.

At a jumble sale, the items for sale are usually laid out on tables or racks, and shoppers are free to browse through the items and make purchases. The prices of the items are typically very low, which makes it an affordable way for people to buy things they need while also supporting a good cause.

Jumble sales are popular in the United Kingdom and other parts of the world, and they are often organized by volunteers who collect, sort, and price the donated items.

What is the different things jumble sale and bazaar?

Jumble sales and bazaars are both types of fundraising events, but they have some differences. A jumble sale typically involves the sale of donated items, such as clothing, books, toys, and household goods, at low prices to raise money for a charitable cause. The emphasis is on selling used or second-hand items that have been donated by individuals, rather than new goods. On the other hand, a bazaar is a market-style event where vendors sell a variety of new and often handmade goods such as clothing, jewelry, crafts, and food items. Bazaars can be fundraisers for charitable organizations, but they can also be commercial events where vendors pay a fee to sell their products. Bazaars often have a more festive atmosphere, with entertainment, games, and food stalls, whereas jumble sales tend to be more low-key affairs. Additionally, bazaars may be held for a specific occasion, such as a holiday or cultural festival, whereas jumble sales can be held at any time.
